Data we collect

Email, name, language and preferences; subscription data; IP address (security and anti-abuse limits); your saved spots, places marked visited, private notes and any photos you upload; your location only if you use "Near me" (used in the moment, not stored). Card data is handled directly by Stripe and PayPal: we never store it.

Legal basis

Performance of the contract (account, guides, billing); your consent (third-party map and weather, updates email); legal obligation (payment tax records).

Third parties & transfers

Stripe and PayPal (payments), Brevo (email), OpenStreetMap (map tiles) and Open-Meteo (weather), the hosting provider. OpenStreetMap and Open-Meteo receive your IP when the map/weather load, only after your consent. Some providers may process data outside the EU with adequate safeguards.

Retention

Account data while the account is active; payment tax records are kept for the legally required period (typically 10 years) then anonymised; logs and anti-abuse limits for a few days; IP addresses attached to requests (e.g. concierge) are cleared within 30 days.

Your rights

Access, rectification, erasure and portability. From your account you can download your data and delete your account, or write to ciao@lifeincocoa.com. You have the right to complain to your data protection authority (in Italy, the Garante — garanteprivacy.it).
